L ensemble de l édition a été produit à 170 exemplaires. _____ L aquarelle originale signée de Clairin se trouve dans une chemise spéciale, il s agit de l illustration choisie pour la couverture de l ouvrage : un couple assis auprès d une fenêtre. L aquarelle comporte d intéressantes variantes par rapport à cette version imprimée à la fois dans les détails et dans la palette ; un fond arboré violine pour l aquarelle et surtout les expressions de visages, paraissant ici plus mélancoliques. Les reflets de la végétation dans la fenêtre (dans l aquarelle originale) offre une ouverture qui correspond tout a fait au titre qui comporte également un changement « Voix Basse » . Une des très belles réalisations de pierre Eugène Clairin (1897-1980), peintre lithographe élève et intime de Sérusier il fréquente très tôt Maurice Denis et Vuillard qui influenceront profondément son uvre. These are the legendary research volumes on human sexuality that later were compiled as The Kinsey Report. This massive 2-volume set contains 804 pages on male sexuality and 842 pages on female sexuality. Both are bound in burgundy cloth with guilt lettering on black background on the male sexuality volume's spine and guilt lettering on dark blue background on the female sexuality volume spine. Note PUBLICATION DATES: The volume on male sexuality was published in 1948; the volume on female sexuality was published in 1953. Both of these volumes are TRUE first editions with no subsequent printings listed on the copyright page. NOTE that many copies that are listed online claim to be firsts, but obviously are later printings, which you can see by the multiple print dates listed on their copyright pages. This Very Good+ condition set has tip wear on both books and a slight bend on one tip of the female sexuality volume, which also has the previous owner's name written on the first endpaper.
