Can I mow in reverse with my new riding mower?

  • Yes you can. Although mowing in reverse is not recommended, there may be certain situations where operators feel they need to mow in reverse.

  • They now offer the new mow-in-reverse option on their current line of riding mowers, each requiring a two-step process in order to keep the blades engaged for continuous mowing while shifting into and out of reverse.
  • Instructions on operating this feature will be found in the "Operation" chapter of the Operator's Manual of the mower.

What is the maximum length of grass a mower can mow?

  • In the extreme situation you should not normally attempt to mow grass more than 10" tall. If necessary, raise the mower deck and make multiple lawn cuttings, lowering the deck and removing the clippings after each lawn cutting.

  • Do not attempt to mow through excessively tall grass or piles of dry grass or leaves.
  • When mowing in longer grass, keep these areas free from build-up by periodically stopping the mower, allowing the engine to cool and then cleaning debris away.
  • Before performing service or maintenance always disconnect and ground the engine spark plug wire.

How do I change the oil?  Where is the oil drain?

  • Although most engines have a factory installed oil drain plug, located at or near the lowest part of the engine, not all equipment designs allow for easy access to the oil drain plug.
  • The recommended method for removing old oil is to extract it from the fill opening using a siphon pump.

  • Attention that before performing service or maintenance on any unit, always disconnect the spark plug wire from the spark plug. And reconnect the wire only after you are completely finished and ready to start the machine.
